Does life feel like a series of wrong turns ?

DO YOU WISH YOUR COULD REWRITE THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE?

Do you ever feel you're in the wrong story ?

So did I.

HI! I'm Tara

Can I be completely vulnerable for a minute?

For the better part of 5 decades, I was desperate to find my place in the world. I tried to be like everyone else and shaped my life to other people’s narratives.

People-pleasing became my master, and I silenced my dreams, joys, and desires like they were cell phones in a movie theater. The word ‘No’ tasted like rotten milk and ensuring the happiness of others was a siphon attached to my soul at a ’24-hour Fill-n-Go.’ Don’t forget your free Giant-Java and doughnut with a full tank.

Yet, through everything, I could never ignore a nagging feeling I wasn’t living authentically.

My heart has always been the size of a small planet, and my creative, empathic curiosity was constantly trying to emerge.

I FELT LIKE A GENIE TRAPPED IN A BOTTLE.

One day, I realized I’d spent most of my life in the wrong story. I was a Hobbit from Middle Earth lost in ‘How To Succeed In Business”.

At nearly 52-years old, I decided it was time to rewrite my story.

Changing your life comes from having the courage to start over. Whether that means making a minor course correction back to a recent point in time or taking a whole new path.

And I am no stranger to starting over.

Before I was 40

I married twice, had three boys, lost my mother, moved 26 times, was fired three times, laid off once, and held 20 different jobs, which included a stint in the US NAVY.

(Yep that’s me top row, fifth from the left.)

I realized that living authentically and finding my purpose meant turning my focus inward.

This required a deep dive into my behaviors and choices, the doubt and self-limiting beliefs, the excuses, the fears, and the emotions I allowed to hold me back.

When I started bringing these to the surface was when the work began. It was terrifying, exciting, and joyously liberating. I connected with myself, my soul, and my heart for the first time.

AWARENESS REQUIRED ACTION.

I learned to set boundaries and make friends with the word ‘No.’ I still grapple with these two troublemakers, but we’re developing a level of mutual respect.
Gratitude and compassion gave me peace and improved my relationships.
Meditation provided clarity, and helped me find direction.
My habits and priorities changed, and I started making better decisions with eating and my time.

Letting go of rigid beliefs opened my mind to possibilities and growth, and alleviated unnecessary conflicts.

Throughout everything, I knew I was connected to something greater than myself. There was always a guiding force trying to show me I had a specific purpose for my life, and if I’d stop and listen, I could get off the merry-go-round

There were many times I felt this guidance and experienced it at work in my life. These moments stick with me because they seem like serendipitous moments of magic looking back at them.

Over time, I discovered how to tune into these moments of clarity and learned the difference between making a hasty decision and following my gut.

No matter who you are, what you’ve been through, your age, station, or situation, anyone at any time can decide to start over. You don’t have to stay in a story written by your past, pain, self-doubt, or limitations. Whatever is holding you back, whatever your struggle, you can choose another path. You can rewrite your life.

It isn’t easy, and often times it’s painful. More than once, I wanted to curl up with a plate of warm brownies and binge Netflix. (I love brownies!) But I know from experience that moving through the hard stuff is so worth it. I’m no sage or monk. I don’t have all the answers. I’ve only cracked the surface, and I still fall every day. Old habits, fears, and self-doubt trip me up like a minefield of kids’ toys in a dark hallway.

IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU

I don't call myself a 'life coach' or 'spiritual enlightenment super-swami.' I'm a transformational researcher, motivator, and smile-maker. I do the digging so you don't have to, and well it's what gets me up in the morning. That and a cup of coffee.

FIND THE CONNECTIONS

I have untamable curiosity and veracity for learning. I investigate and research everything. In particular, seeking the connections between related and seemingly unconnected things. Detective shows are my jam.

I am a truth-seeker and dot-connector.

I jump down rabbit holes of intrigue searching for where the scientific, spiritual, and metaphysical dots that make up this crazy thing called ‘life’ are connected. Where the lines of the human story intersect is where we find ourselves, our path, the WAY.

CONNECT THE DOTS

FIND PURPOSE & LIVE AUTHENTICALLY

We’re all writing the story of our lives, and much of it has been written by other people and our experiences. But every minute of every day gives us the opportunity to choose what we keep and what we don’t. Your heart knows what your story is. Everything else is just a draft.

I CAN'T REWRITE YOUR STORY

But I can share everything I've learned

so that you, too, can find wisdom, peace, and the courage to live authentically.
